ARB Backs New Off Road Event

ARB 4×4 Accessories, Australia’s largest manufacturer and distributor of 4WD equipment, has thrown its full support behind the all new Australian Outback 4X4 Extreme, to be held in Broken Hill in May 2011.

The ARB Australian Outback 4X4 Extreme is a brand new off road competition, resulting from a joint initiative of the Broken Hill divisions of Rotary and Legacy Australia. The event aims to raise funds for both of these highly respected organisations, which do an enormous amount of work in the community through different projects.

ARB has supported numerous off road events in the past, but is particularly proud to be involved in this new venture, given its primary objective is the raising of funds for these worthy charities.

ARB’s Marketing Manger, Matt Frost, states… “ARB provides a huge amount of support to charities every year, and when we can achieve this through a 4WD related activity, it’s a particularly satisfying thing to be involved in.”

Frost cites ARB’s involvement with the Drive4Life organisation as a perfect example of this. ARB supports this 4WD touring initiative each year, which to date has raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the Northcott Society, an organisation which provides a huge amount of support for people with a broad range of disabilities.

The ARB Australian Outback 4X4 Extreme has the full support of the Broken Hill council, tourism association, local businesses and property owners. Whilst being a locally run event, it has the potential to showcase Australian four wheel driving to people all over the world. ARB products are exported to over 100 countries worldwide, and plans are already in place to promote the event in a number of these markets.

“This event is already creating a lot of interest within ARB, and we have every intention of letting our customers around the world share in this excitement. With such strong local backing, the event has enormous potential. We see it as being a win win situation for everyone. The town of Broken Hill benefits from tourism, everyone involved gets to have some serious fun and the profits go to charities,” Frost states.

ARB supports off road events all over the world but believes Broken Hill is unique in terms of what it is able to offer off road motorsport. The combination of superb locations, challenging terrain and local hospitality, means the ARB Australian Outback 4X4 Extreme has the makings of a truly great event.
